About Burnt wood
Burnt wood refers to the weathering of the superficial layer of the wood furniture by fire to enhance the durability, fire-resistance and beauty of the wood. It is based on the centuries old Japanese practice Shou Sugi Ban. The dark charred finish highlights the beauty of the internal structure of the wood and shows its crevices, whorls, tree rings, knots in a dramtic unique aesthetic way.
